The contract initially involved specialty mechanical, electrical and instrumentationrnmaintenance and has developed to encompass maintenance planning and plant control systems.rnThe integrated partnership has delivered excellent results in the areas of improved availability,rnreliability and return on investment. The operation is now amongst the industry leaders in plantrnavailability.rnThe integrated maintenance service has delivered:rn1.An increase in plant availability from 93%, in the first year, to 96.5% today, generatingrnapproximately $50 million additional income per year,rn2.Quality work procedures,rn3.Process and equipment improvements,rn4.Major shutdown planning involving more than 700 personnel, 6 000 parts and over 2 000rndiscrete activities.rnThe ongoing success of the partnership requires a high level of understanding between bothrncompanies.
