You are a geologist, geometallurgist, or metallurgist/process engineer and are fortunate enough tornwork for an organisation who asks you to design/execute a geometallurgy program. What seems like arnsimple request is actually not a trivial exercise. ‘Recipe’ style manuals are not readily available.rnHowever, many ‘experts’ are lurking around willing to deliver solutions which will solve all of yourrnproblems. Even though similar ore deposit styles (e.g. porphyry Cu, IOCG, Ni-laterites, calcreternhosted U, etc.) have many similar characteristics, each ore deposit is unique. Hence yourrngeometallurgy program needs to be ‘fit-for-purpose’. This paper offers some insights gained viarndesigning and executing geometallurgy programs from exploration through to production, andrnworking at a mine where you are held accountable for your metallurgical performance predictors.
